Faceless, A Poem

I bought the clock for little money

Scared frame wood gnarled.

Faceless over the bandsaw hung

Heaped in saw’s dust deep.

Drifts in avalanche cascade

Orange cedar, dark walnut, Yellow pine,

Bands swirl track time.

Workshop paleontology,

Dunes to sift, silent clock

Quiet chronology.
