Progressive Life, Lyric

Progressive Life, Lyric

Cherub like, cherry- cheeked, bright robust smiles,

Then a lad or a maid sun drenched and mild.

Maturing in fashion and expertise,

From every clock-tick their lucre they squeeze.

Bent on piles of fortune, happiness buy;

Their very own heaven’s stairway contrived.

Mortgages locked in, lashed to high leases;

wealth is a burden the more it increases

Not one cent escape where misers reside,

channeled to those so counting occupied.

Comes the days of looking their part— a toad,

Eyes dull, cheeks wan, frowns so long and so broad.

The happiest mortals and full of mirth,

Are the thankful souls to draw their next breath.

Near and Far

Near and Far

Journey inside filtered light

features change the hours pass,

Broken dreams the grist for new

adventures are seldom planned.

Solace found, a rocking chair

rather soar on bi-plane wings—

hunting dinosaurs, finding

things; once conceived, cunning made.

Pirate treasure, aqua seas,

Alexander’s sword and greaves,

Posey, gaudy parchments,

illuminated manuscripts.

Dance macabre carnival,

C-beams glitter, ships on fire,

Pilgrims journey finished fair,

denizen with snakes for hair.

What a real world is made of

in truth is experience–

well rendered and remembered,

going out and back again.

What Matters

I let words fly

funny things, most

flitter and die.

Some make their roosts

in someone’s mind

yet matter little.

I did not aim

to be remembered or pose vain

words are the current

that runs brain to brain.

Many will claim a favorite

commercial before

thinking to share a pithy

phrase from my legacy.

Archaic, Daily Prompt, Second-helping

Archaic, Daily Prompt, Second-helping

Shuttered, the daily prompts, good-bye daily posts

Close the cover on photo challenges

Drain the pool, dissolve First Fridays

Chop! They’re every one gone sort of archaic

I hope the new stuff is cool and not chaotic.

Remember 2,000 Daily Prompts

Delve 380 Photo Challenges

So many laps in 260 Community Pools

Celebrate 100 First Fridays

These were all created by nimble cunning minds

So I hope for more like these just any old time.

I’ll only say:

À bientôt !  Nos vemos!  Tschüss!

Cheers!  Ciao! Bis später!

Not good-bye, but see you all later!

Farewell, But I’m Staying, Daily Prompt Retrospective

Farewell, But I’m Staying, Daily Prompt Retrospective

To ponder perhaps to muse retrospective

On being part of the WordPress collective;

I think it was the great crew at WordPress central

And all of the cool folks out there in the aether;

Somehow made my poor bumbling endeavours

Something to achieve serious or cleaver.

So, I wish you all well and time will tell

If our paths cross again and we begin

Some new chapter, a photo, a quick verse

It’s been real fun working here on WordPress.

Thank you seems so small for what you have done

I’d like to shake your hand or hug you each one

Let me suffice to type without any tears or hype

I have faith somehow something will replace

What you have grown (more than a site) like a home

Farewell to all those familiar WordPress features

I’m staying and striving to make you proud teachers.

Around the Sapling Ceremony

Around the Sapling

Happy woodland creatures so gathered;

Bringing their bowls and pitchers of water.

In time to joyful celebrate

And even to commemorate

The Stripling Oak, new life.

To consecrate the spot

Where giants once had stood

Welcome Neo, Stand you in good stead:

A congress convened in sylvan ceremony

Many pledges,  each one solemn fealty

And, welcome prince in forest primeval

Share our home and demesne medieval.

Daily Prompt

3-D Printer, a Tool

3-D Printer, a Tool

Engage the Imprimatur

“Let it be printed” right now.

Gears whirl, fans cool spouts and nozzles

All made from old soda bottles.

Jets of substrate exact precision

Formed in 3-D planes Cartesian.

Design, Create, large or miniature

See the pile of sprues sprout premature.

Daily Prompt, Second-helping

Parallel Line Narcissism

Parallel lines take in the view,

A running couple, duo too;

A kind of reflection,

Without a deflection,

No Intersection, not the least interwoven, and crossing never

Convergence forbidden by definition separate forever.

Paired perfect mirror images,

Shared exactness and blemishes

They stare at each other, linear virginity;

Their limit approaches something like infinity.

So only time will tell which first blinks

Or smiles, or waves, or simply winks;

Parallel ray Narcissism,

de facto linear schism.
