Essay, Resolving to Finish

I get a reluctant streak sometimes painting. The “actual” on the canvas is reluctant but then I maybe blame the materials. Failing that I excuse a sore hand. It’s the light, it is at fault.

I tell a story as I go along, a silent narrative as I press on for some traction.

Progress is elusive. A bit more of the design plan is the true goal. If only a little. Keep going.

The story acts as a guide, surely a motivation, as good as a visual reference can be. Even en plein air?

The precedence is the canvas, the challenge is resolving why my “eye” and my pallet are not in harmony with the subject view.

Now the story has helped expose the root cause to the problem.
