Ada bought three stools and a churn.
Madge snapped up half-a-dozen blue jars.
The real estate agent took down the company sign and replaced it with a ‘SOLD’ sign.
“Hard to leave?” Ada was sensitive like that.
The farm lady seemed to daydream, “Not so much.”
“We were young, then we raised a family, and worked this farm.”
“Surely, the memories?”
“My man and I are going to sleep in till 6:00 most mornings; knock off work early around 7:00 PM; hire someone to mow the grass, we’re making us some new memories.”
