I made my first “drop” in support of Free Art Friday. It’s the Friday of Memorial Day, May 27, 2016.
I didn’t pre-plan where I would leave the painting. I decided on a Plan “A” as I picked my way downtown. The town was fairly quiet even though several hundred visitors and locals gathered only blocks from my position.
Making the drop felt a bit cloak-and-dagger, like I was up to nefarious deeds in the late afternoon.
Creating art and sharing it hopping another person might like it and take it home wasn’t in my everyday experiences. I don’t think pigeons will take it, then again.
Setting my artwork free is a new memory during Memorial Day; perhaps it’s a start for a weekly Free Art Friday tradition in my town.
It is for me, definitely.
